Life in Christ
The Apostle John wrote, “From Jesus’ abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another. For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ. He has revealed God to us.” As people who have received one blessing after another through the work of Jesus, like the waves of the Pacific, it becomes our pleasure to pass on to others the blessings that we have received. The good news of Jesus that has changed us is that no matter where we started, by His grace, we are made able to be people who live in love with God, able to love each other and to pass on blessings to those that need to be touched by God’s grace.
These words from John get to the heart of an important dynamic at our church. Whether we're studying the Scriptures, hanging out with friends, serving on the other side of the world or serving on the other side of town, we are blessed from God living in us so we live a life of blessing.
While community is a common buzz word these days, what’s important to us is the kind of community we are becoming. It's not about community for community's sake, it’s about being a body of people who practice the love, grace and truth of Jesus to each other and those we come in contact with. It is our commitment to practice the blessing that we have received by being a blessing.
Our commitment to the grace of Christ and His continuing work in our world is central to who we are as a church. We encourage you to read more about this commitment in our doctrinal statement.
